Agreement with Aegean Airlines with Travelport GDS


Athens, Greece, 30 April 2009 – Travelport GDS, one of the world’s largest global distribution system (GDS) provider operating Galileo platform and leading Greek carrier, Aegean Airlines, have today jointly announced details of a new, multi-year full content agreement. Under the new agreement, the airline will provide all Galileo connected travel agents around the world with its full, published inventory, including its former web only fares.

Robin Ranken, Business Development Director for Travelport GDS, commented: “Aegean Airlines has grown exponentially over the last few years and is the largest airline in Greece in terms of passenger volume. We are delighted to have secured this full content agreement with them and be the first GDS to offer their web only fares to our travel agency customers.”

Aegean Airlines operates 47 domestic and international routes with more than 200 daily flights. It uses brand new Airbus A320s and A321s and by May 2009, its scheduled fleet will have an average age of only two years.
