International Travel and Tourism Mart Pakistan 2007, Participation by Global E-Commerce in association with Galileo Pakistan, Marriott and Pegasus Solutions

Karachi: With the aim of promoting tourism in Pakistan, Ministry of Tourism organized an International Travel and Tourism Mart starting from June 01 2007 to June 03, 2007 at Expo Centre Karachi. For the first time ever, Global E-Commerce (GE-COMM), in association with Galileo Pakistan participated in this exhibition, with the whole of enthusiasm. GE-COMM showcased a number of its technically advanced products counting Pegasus Commission Processing System, Galileo’s Fare shopper, IGI Travel Sure and its newly launched products gBOSS and gBOSS Tours for Umrah and Hajj. Moreover GE-COMM formally announced its entitlement as General Sales Representative by Marriott International Inc.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Ishrat ul Ibad, Governor Sindh in presence of leading names from travel industry and media. Visitor’s enthusiasm was worth seeing from the day one. Included in the exhibitors were a number of travel agencies, Gerry’s, Waljis, and Polani to name few. From airlines, Swiss Airlines, Lufthansa German Airline and Turkish Airline were present there.
Moreover, Global E-Commerce held a series of seminars on second and third day of the exhibition, to formally introduce all its product and associations, i.e. Marriott, Pegasus solutions, IGI Travel Sure, gBOSS and gBOSS Tours nationwide.
These seminars comprised of three sessions. In the first session, GE-COMM’s appointment as Marriott’s General Sales Representative in Pakistan was introduced to the audience by Mr. Omer Khan, Product In charge for Marriott. He also presented the company profile and brand image of Marriott to the audience and answered queries regarding rules and procedures for sales.
A session at these seminars was also dedicated to Pegasus Solution’s Hotel commission processing system currently being handled by GE-COMM for Pakistan market. During these sessions GE-COMM also introduced Global Back Office Sales System (gBOSS) to the audience, the product had a soft launch in May 2007, it is finally offered for sale to its travel agents in Pakistan.
Mr. Nabeel Dean, Business Development Manager IGI presented Travel Sure’s insurance plans and elaborated various policies and answered queries from the audience regarding travel insurance. Product leaders from Galileo and GE-COMM presented each session to the Audience. Part of the audience was attended upon receiving special invitation from GE-COMM. Seminars on both ended with Hi Tea served to the invitees.
GE-COMM’s booth was visited by its travel trade partners and general public. Galileo Pakistan’s along with Global E-Com’s personnel sales team was present there to answer queries of visitors relating to IGI, Pegasus, Marriott and gBOSS. The booth was beautifully organized, using standing pannaflexes, posters and banners. Counters carried brochures of GE-COMM’s products and a continuous slide show including Galileo, Marriott, IGI and Pegasus’ ads and snapshots was running on display. Visitors were given different gift items sponsored by Galileo Pakistan, Marriott, IGI and Pegasus. Marriott and Pegasus had arranged especially designed banners and marketing material for the event.
Mr. Shaheen Ramzan Ali, NDC Head Galileo Pakistan thanked and congratulated the Ministry of Pakistan for organizing such an event, providing most conducive environment to the travel traders to promote their products.
